Dave Bautista is officially taking up the mantle of the "God of War." Variety and Deadline have confirmed the actor is now set to lead Amazon Prime Video's live-action TV series based on the long-running PlayStation video game franchise, stepping into the role of Kratos.

Moore (For All Mankind, Outlander), who holds an overall deal at Sony, serves as writer, showrunner, and executive producer, alongside Maril Davis, Cory Barlog, Naren Shankar, Matthew Graham, Asad Qizilbash, Jeff Ketcham, Hermen Hulst, Roy Lee, and Brad Van Arragon. Joe Menosky, Marc Bernardin, Tania Lotia, and Ben McGinnis serve as co-executive producers. Amazon has given the series a two-season order, with both seasons set to shoot back-to-back.
